One thing you will encounter pretty early on when you dip your footsie into the online community of thru-hikers (in this case, the “Appalachian Trail Thru-Hikers Class of 2020” Facebook Group, but really any of the groups with a few thousand folks with indispensable expert advice), you quickly realize that the saying must be “HMFHYI” or “Hike my fucking hike you idiot!” and not, in fact, HYOH.

What is ‘Trek Dirty to Me?’ It’s a project that I have been wanting to do for over a decade. In short, it is the complete thru-hiking of the Triple Crown of American hikes - the three major American Scenic Trails: The Appalachian Trail (AT), the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and the Continental Divide Trail (CDT).

I will be attempting the third of my three Triple Crown thru-hikes for my Trek Dirty to Me project with the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) starting in March of 2022!
