Trek Dirty to Me: 42 days until I start hiking 2,200 miles to Mt. Katahdin, and please help me raise $2,200 to promote healthy lungs!
I've decided to make every step count by joining in the American Lung Association's Fight For Air Climb to raise funds for healthy lungs and clean air.
I have pledged to raise $2,200 or $1 for every mile I will be thru-hiking of the Appalachian Trail beginning April 1, 2020. On March 7, I will climb 47 flights of stairs up Salesforce Tower (the tallest building in Indiana) in downtown Indianapolis, carrying the weight that I will be bringing along for my thru-hike.
I need your help to raise this money and you can click here to donate right meow!
While this accounts for only about 1/1,000th of the vertical gain and loss that I will be doing over the course of six months hiking from Georgia to Maine (the Appalachian Trail is the equivalent of climbing and descending the 29,000ft Mt. Everest sixteen times), this will make for some great practice, a chance to raise money for a great cause, and a wonderful opportunity to test out my recently smoke-free lungs after kicking tobacco and vaping.
In case you forgot, you can donate by clicking here!
The funds I raise will help provide patient education, support research and advocacy efforts that will improve the lives of everyone living with lung disease including COPD, lung cancer and asthma.
