Trek Dirty to Me: 68 days until we're off, and I need your help to start my Vlog!

Apparently it isn’t enough to just blog today so that your mother can read what you are up to. In the 2020’s, if you aren’t vlogging (video-blogging, Dr. Mom), then you are rubbish and do not deserve to share your stories on the interwebs.

I jest. Vlogging has at least probably been around since internet porn. Because internet porn pretty much sets the bar, right?

Anyway, I would like to build out my very “not internet porn” YouTube and IGTV channels and could use your help with a few things! Here are those things conveniently bulleted out for your desired assistance:

1. Pleeeeeeeaaaassssse subscribe to the Books Bourbon & Bacon YouTube channel so that I can create an actual URL and not be stuck with a bunch of gibberish in the address code. I need at least 100 subscribers, but more would obviously be appreciated. You can subscribe (by hitting the subscribe button, Dr. Mom) and be treated to the our exactly two existing videos HERE!

2. Let me know in the comments here (at the bottom…) or on any of our socials what sort of vlogging rigs you work with or suggest. I need two different set-ups: One for when I am in town and I have access to my bounce box (heavier stuff that I will not be carrying on my back) and one for when I am on the trail. Audio, connectors, and mounts are of particular need. I would like to do three camera interviews on occasion as well (hence the GoPro situation). For your reference as to what I’m already (or plan to be) working with:

   • 3 GoPro Hero 5s (bounce/trail)

   • iPhone Pro (trail)

   • MacBook (2017) (bounce)

   • Ipad Pro (2017) (bounce)

   • some random tripods and mounts (bounce/trail)

   • Zoom H1n digital recorder (to purchase) (trail)

   • Mavic Mini drone (to purchase) (bounce/trail)

3. Production software that is good to use on and off-trail?

4. Significant others, cousins or roommates that you might know who can put together little catchy ditties of music to use on the vlog (and podcast…more to come).

5. People who are just generally talented and looking for some exposure with their production work to help weave this all together. Always looking for talent.

6. Tips, tricks, ideas, anything that will make this a fun thing that I can make this fun and share with YOU! Obviously my personal focus will be on the Trek Dirty to Me videos on the Books Bourbon & Bacon channels, but I plan to keep the vlog-train going in the offseason and create content for BBB.
