Trek Dirty to Me: 73 days until that walk, and I don't really wanna do the work today.
This is me.
If you look closely, you will see that I am not outside running intervals in the sand or running up and down the very limited elevation in this little neck of Goa. Let’s enhance.
Enhance.
Let’s enhance again. ENHANCE!
I’m going to repost what I wrote on my personal Instagram (@AJFeeneyRuiz) earlier today:
99% of the time when I travel, I prefer to see where the universe takes me. I have shunned planning for over a decade now. Apparently the 1% is this #at2020 thru-hike attempt. For a variety of reasons (officiating a wedding in May (holla @cocamp and @jkole17!), two weeks back in Indy in August, my @trekdirtyto.me project on @booksbourbonbacon (which requires me to give an appropriate heads-up to schedule interviews with restaurant and bar and farm owners along the way), and setting up a trackable path for friends and family and YOU to join me or meet up along the way), I have surrendered to creating a ‘plan.’
This has involved about 20hrs over the last two days (I’m a little over halfway done), and I would rather be outside training. I FULLY realize that anything can happen on the trail and that injuries, flights of fancy or arraignments can halt my progress along the way. But I am tricky, and persistent, and patient and a double (triple?) Virgo. So thank you @awolonat and @zrdavis and @thetrek.co and the interwebs. Making a plan that comes together is my freakin’ superpower. Fight me.
So there you go.
Thus…
Accurate
My first Father’s Day.
